How do I sign up with SoleStride?
It's only a click away. Simply click on the registration link and create a password. You can register for various mixers on the site. You are welcome to sign up for free to try SoleStride once before comitting to other mixers. After registering, you can return to SoleStride's sight by entering your password and simply logging onto SoleStride's registration page.

What is the age of your groups?
SoleStride offers mixers to Calgary singles in their late twenties to forties. Demographically mixers have leaned towards the late 20s - mid 40 something groups.

Is SoleStride a typical dating group where I will be matched up with people right away?
No. SoleStride is an active & cultural networking group where the first thing our members have in common is being energetic, friendly and vibrant. Our members come out to enjoy themselves first and foremost in the activity before "jumping the gun" so to speak into relationships. In the midst of enjoying our mixers, SoleStriders create a diversity of connections that go beyond finding a romantic interest. In fact, our group is great for those who actually enjoy staying successfully single for a while until that right fit comes along. If your focus is primarily for meeting someone right away without an interest in the activities SoleStride plans, then SoleStride will not be the right fit for you!

Why not simply join large non-singles social/sports groups for free to meet singles?
Calgarians are lucky to live in a city with a variety of outdoor clubs & social options. SoleStride is intended to compliment your current routine rather than replace it. Although SoleStride is not free, its small costs are directed not only to maintaining its website & group promotion, but also to provide one-on-one support while you are registered with SoleStride. Although having fun is mainly encouraged at mixers, at some point members may be interested in finding a romantic connection. What makes us a little different than non-singles social clubs, is you can feel comfortably at ease that everyone else is single. In that sense, SoleStride takes away the leg work of determining another person's social status. Also having smaller groups sizes than most clubs allows our members to feel included as opposed to getting lost in the crowds or ignored by cliques. Our focus is on quality connections versus quantity!

Can I make contact with other SoleStride members after attending a mixer?
Yes. After you attend a mixer, you can enter SoleStride's "Members Only" area with your user name and password. In the Members Area you can view your past mixer buddies and send a message to them!

For the $20/3 month mixer sign up, can I just show up spontaneously for mixers?
No since mixers could be full or cancelled. You must return to the SoleStride website and register for you unlimited mixers 48 hours or more in advance to secure you spot & be notified if the mixer is cancelled to avoid your inconvenience of showing up to that mixer.

When and how do I register with SoleStride?
So SoleStride can confirm its group numbers and composition, your registration and payment is preferred 48 hours or more in advance of your one scheduled mixer. If there are spaces available at a mixer, last minute registrations will be welcomed. For mixers with admission costs more advanced registration could be required. To sign up, click on the registration page and read the registration procedures. After registering, we will make contact within 24 hours to confirm your spot.

Will the same people be at different mixers?
As we encourage previous registrants to come out to various mixers, this is a high possibility. However as SoleStride continues to promote its group to the singles Calgary community, there is also the chance of meeting new faces at mixers. Both sides have an advantage. Going out on mixers with friends from previous mixers allows members to get better acquainted before taking that giant leap to a one on one date. Meeting new people simply expands your SoleStride connections!

Will there be an exact mix of women and men?
No. SoleStride's club provides networking opportunities rather than exclusively dating opportunities.

How do I make a payment to SoleStride?
You have three payment options:
1. Make a cheque or money order payable to SoleStride & mail to the address provided on the payment registration page.
2. Pay by any major credit card via SoleStride's online global payment company called PayPal. For more information about this company click on the PayPal logo below. After close the PayPal window to return to this page.
3. If you decide to register 5 or days less in advance of you mixer & do not pay via credit card, you may bring your mixer fee via a cheque (payable to SoleStride) or exact change at your event.

Is my credit card information secure over the internet?
Yes. Our online payment company PayPal uses an encrypted technology system to ensure your credit card's security over the internet. SoleStride uses this online payment option to make registration easy and convenient to you!

Do I receive a payment confirmation number?
PayPal will send you payment confirmation via your e mail on behalf of SoleStride after you make your credit card payment. On your e mail confirmation, you will see a reference number matching your payment. You would refer to this number when contacting SoleStride for payment questions. For those mailing cheques, SoleStride will e mail a payment confirmation upon receiving your payment. You will also be given a written receipt at your mixer.

Do I need a PayPal account to make a credit card payment?
No. Creating a paypal account is optional. Some people like to create one as many other companies around the world use PayPal as well. If you do not wish to create one, you can bypass that option when making your payment for SoleStride mixers.

Is my personal registration information secure?
Yes. SoleStride keeps your personal information private unless you express consent to release it to a match. PayPal uses your information to verify credit card payments & stores it privately in its database. Even in the event of releasing your information after there is a mutual interest expressed between SoleStride participants, we will only give your match your first name and e mail address.

How big are SoleStride groups?
Our group numbers will range between 6 and 20 people. As all SoleStriders are either friendship or dating connections, we feel our participants can benefit from this group size range. Also these smaller groups enable comfortable interaction in an intimate atmosphere.

Where are the mixer locations?
SoleStride's mixers are located in various locations in Calgary as well as West of Calgary. Location depends on which event is being plannned. All locations are posted on the site. Meeting places are usually e-mailed after registration. Car pools are arranged when events are outside of the Calgary city limits.
